Jonak has been making shoes the right way since before sustainability was a talking point in fashion. The brand earned B Corp certification, placing it among a small group of businesses held to rigorous independent standards for environmental and social impact. Production stays entirely within Europe, with skilled artisans in Portugal following a meticulous process of roughly 150 individual steps per pair, all done by hand. The leather supply chain is tightly controlled, with nearly all materials sourced from environmentally certified tanneries and a clear target to reach 100% within the next few years. Factories are independently audited for wages, working conditions, and worker rights, and a full digital traceability system lets customers see exactly where and how their shoes were made. Six decades in, Jonak is proving that longevity and responsibility go hand in hand.
