Beginning as a project for an entrepreneurship class, the three came up with the idea of starting a retail business that focused on alternative products. Eventually, in 1976 the idea actually came to life and was named Urban Outfitters. Today, they're recognized globally and one of the most popular retailers to date; notorious for their hipster flare, many items have a grunge or retro aspect to them that makes them indistinctly Urban.
